Stay safe when buying and selling locally
Always meet buyers and sellers in a well-lit, busy public location. Great options include coffee shops, shopping center parking lots, grocery stores, or police station parking lots. Many police stations offer designated "Safe Exchange Zones" specifically for online marketplace transactions.
For high-value transactions, bring a friend or family member with you. Never meet alone if you feel uncomfortable. Let someone you trust know where you're going and who you're meeting.
Inspect items carefully before paying. Test electronics, check clothing for damage, and verify serial numbers on expensive items. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. Check the seller's feedback score and reviews before committing.
Cash is safest for in-person transactions. If using digital payment, use apps like Venmo, Cash App, or Zelle — but only after you have the item in hand. Never pay in advance via wire transfer, money order, or gift cards. Kwikir will never ask you to pay via gift card.
Never share your home address, financial information, or personal details beyond what's needed for the transaction. Use Kwikir's built-in messaging system to communicate — don't move conversations to personal email or phone until you're comfortable.
Be cautious if a seller: refuses to meet in person, asks for payment before meeting, has no reviews or feedback, pressures you to decide quickly, or offers prices far below market value. Trust your instincts — if something feels off, walk away.
If you encounter a scammer, fraudulent listing, or feel unsafe, report it immediately using the report button on any listing or user profile. You can also contact us at kwiksupport@kwikir.com. Your reports help keep Kwikir safe for everyone.

We collect information you provide when creating an account (name, email, phone number, ZIP code), information about your listings and transactions, and usage data to improve our service. We use Google and Facebook for identity verification — their privacy policies also apply.
Your information is used to operate the marketplace, verify your identity, connect buyers and sellers, send important account notifications, and improve our services. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
Kwikir displays your username (not your real name) publicly. Your real name, email address, and phone number are never shown to other users. You can change your username at any time in your dashboard settings.
We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. We use Firebase Authentication for secure login.

By creating an account or using Kwikir, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our platform.
You are responsible for all activity on your account. You must provide accurate information, list only items you own and have the right to sell, and treat other users with respect. Prohibited items include illegal goods, weapons, drugs, counterfeit items, and adult content.
Kwikir is a platform connecting buyers and sellers. We are not a party to any transaction between users. We do not guarantee the quality, safety, or legality of items listed. Buyers and sellers transact at their own risk.
Browsing and messaging is free. Posting listings requires an active plan starting at $1.99. Subscription plans renew automatically unless cancelled. No commissions are charged on sales.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or harm other users. Banned users may not re-register.
